Etienne Benson is not only the primary artist for the
comic but he's also the only artist for the comic. At least until
we buy some crayons. A bit of a hopeless optimist, Etienne is
also attracted to lots and lots of heavy artillery. With any hope,
he will never be caught in public without at least a Howitzer.
Born and raised on a boring little island on the east coast of
Canada, Etienne has insane delusions of grandeur. This is coupled
with a social life based entirely around tabletop roleplaying
and his artwork. Still an overweight virgin at 20,
he lives with his parents and can't drive. We expect mediocre
things from him in the future.
And if you wish to make direct contact with him, too damn bad.
Andrew Ferguson is not actually an artist, so he doesn't
belong here. However we took pity on him and let him come in anyways.
Actually, he's just this strange guy. Born in British Columbia,
Canada on February 26th, 1984, he's been back and forth across
this country at least five times. Currently residing in an overly
large house in Ottawa with his family, he tends to shirk any and
all responsibilities. Working together with Etienne, whom he's
known since 9th grade, he helps create this comic, which we hope
you enjoy. His website, Untitled,
died and he tends to otherwise not create stuff on the net with
the exception of his Jesus
Journal. Reacheable via e-mail
and ICQ (#7664456),
he welcomes your comments. He also speaks in second person, as
seen here.
About the Comic
Since, hopefully, you've already read the archives, you know
enough about the characters and such that we don't need to cover
it here. Instead this little section is devoted to describing
the creative process, from beginning to end, of this comic.
First, the brain creates an idea. The idea is then stored in
the memory of the person who thought it up, either myself or Etienne.
Then, at our weekly meeting, these ideas are discussed, hashed
over, and fleshed out. Some of them are thrown in a small garbage
disposal, while others move on to the next stage.
The fleshed out ideas are then put together into storyboards,
quickly sketched out on paper but with finalized dialogue. At
the conclusion of the meeting, Etienne takes these storyboards
home and throughout the course of the week draws them as separate
panels. They are then inked in, scanned, and e-mailed to Andrew.
Andrew optimizes them using his graphics utilities, adds the
dialog, and puts the panels together in the 4 to 8 panel format
seen on the site. The comics are then run by Etienne once again
and, passing that test, are uploaded to Keenspace's webserver.
The magical scripting gnomes this webcomics employs then add the
banners, archives, and so on, making everything streamlined and
purdy for your viewing pleasure.
